Michael C. Morton and Robert Moulton-Ely founded M&M Investors, LLC, because they perceived a unique market opportunity to provide capital and management to startups who were not on the VC fast track. Rolling up their sleeves and applying a judicious amount of capital, M&M can create value in what a VC might have ignored because it could not be the “next Google.”
PayDQ Services is an example of M&M’s investment approach. M&M obtained operating control of, and provided bridge financing to, PayDQ in early 2001. At that time the company was burning cash and would have been insolvent in three months. In less than 12 months, PayDQ generated positive cash flow, repaid the bridge financing and on-site management resumed operating control of the business.
